Rocío Donés was born in Lleida, a small city near Barcelona, in Spain. She can speak Spanish and Catalan, but due to her interest in learning languages she can also speak English and some Chinese. She graduated from the University of Lleida in 2004 with a degree in Spanish Philology. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree from the University of Barcelona in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, which she finished in October 2014.
Rocío has more than ten years of experience in teaching Spanish Language and Culture course in private schools, at EF International Schools, and at university level. She worked in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, in Jilin University (Changchun, China), and in the University of Lleida and the University of Santiago de Compostela. She has been an official DELE examiner for level A1-A2 and B1-B2 for more than eight years. She is currently working in Spain, in the University of Santiago de Compostela, as a teacher for students from many different countries, especially from China.
Rocío loves watching TV shows, the cinema and listening to music. She loves the Chinese language and culture so much that she spent three years living in Changchun, China, working as a Spanish teacher in Jilin University. There, she enjoyed the wonderful food and Chinese life in general. Nowadays, she is happy taking care of her family, teaching Spanish and learning languages.
