Marta Fondo was born in Valencia, a very nice city on the east coast of Spain. Her native languages are Spanish and Catalan but she also is proficient in English and speaks Italian and French. Her background is based on Art and Culture, she got her degree in Art History at Universitat de València. Her experience as a multilingual staff, guiding exhibitions and designing and managing workshops, in different cultural projects and museums since 1999 woke up her interest in didactics. This led her to look for new professional development so she holds a postgraduate degree in e-Learning Teaching and Course Design by the UOC, a postgraduate course in Teaching Spanish as Second Language by Universitat de Valencia and Instituto Cervantes and the CELTA certificate (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) by Cambridge. She never stopped training to become a better language teacher so she has completed different training courses by Instituto Cervantes as Spanish for Specific purposes. She is also a qualified DELE examiner (From A2 to C2) by Instituto Cervantes.
In combination with her career in the Art and Culture field, she has been teaching languages the last years in different environments and modes, on-line, blended and in-class in multicultural environments and to a very different audience. She has been involved in different open educational projects for online language learning as a coordinator, facilitator and content creator. She is currently a PhD student in Universitat Oberta de Catalunya developing research projects on language acquisition in online environments aiming to optimise the language learning and teaching process.
Marta is passionate about nature and arts. She loves to spend time outdoors with her family and friends and enjoy natural landscapes everywhere. You can find her very often in concerts and cultural activities of any type and very frequently with her best mate, her 3 years of age son. She is an adventurer and very open person who enjoys knowing new countries, people and cultures.
