Marcos was born and raised in Valencia, in the East of Spain. He is bilingual and his mother tongues are Spanish and Valencian (internationally known as Catalan), although he is proficient in English too. Due to academic reasons, he also lived in Pamplona and Madrid. Marcos has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Universidad de Navarra. In 2013, he also completed the postgraduate diploma of Teaching and Methodology of Spanish as a Foreign Language, certified by the Universitat de València and Instituto Cervantes. Also, in 2011, he finished off a double postgraduate Master’s in Multimedia and Online Communications at the Universidad CEU San Pablo of Madrid. Thus, he was able to expand the necessary knowledge to perform a job in the communications management of any company. The same communication skills are very useful to develop teaching tasks as well, because communication is essential in this work and, particularly, in the language instruction. In fact, he has worked as an ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) instructor since 2013.
Currently, he combines his work as a freelancer in the communications field with his duties as Spanish language teacher, a profession that he loves. Moreover, in January 2014, he finished his participation as an ELE teacher in the NIFLAR International Project to teach languages online. It was a collaboration between the Universiteit Utrecht and the Universitat de València for the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language in e-learning environments. Likewise, in September 2013, he began his Spanish teaching experience at Taronja School in Valencia, where he had the opportunity to carry out his teaching internship period. Also during 2013, he lived in Boston for 3 months to improve his English language level at The New England School of English, in order to prepare for the TOEFL exam in the best possible conditions. Also in this period, he had the chance to develop tasks as Spanish conversation assistant with English native speakers from Boston.
Marcos is a melomaniac and he usually attends many music shows every month. He also likes to write on his blog about music, as well as advertising, communication, philosophy, literature, movies and TV shows. In the same way, he loves playing sports, cooking, travelling and discovering new cultures around the world.
