Juan Oliveira was born in Fisterra, in the north-west of Spain. His mother tongues are both Spanish and Galician, but he is also proficient in English. He graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela with a Bachelor of Arts in English Philology in July 2013. Additionally, he holds two Master’s degrees from the University of Alcalá (Teaching Spanish as a Second Language & Teaching English as a Second Language) which he finished in September 2014 and July 2015 respectively.
Juan has more than one year of experience teaching university level courses such as ‘Spanish Language and Culture’, ‘Spanish Literature’ and ‘DELE exam preparation’ to students of different linguistic levels and nationalities. He has also collaborated as a lecturer with the International University of la Rioja. He is currently based in London, where he is working as a Spanish Teaching Assistant at Dormers Wells High School.
Juan loves cinema, spending time with his family and friends, travelling and knowing different cultures. He is also very fond of writing and is planning to write his own book. He has a passion for teaching and learning new languages.
